Extracting the desired data from the XML file - Where can I do the XQuery programming to extract the desired data from the XML file?

I am new in doing the XML programming. I just learned the basic things of DTD, XSD, XSLT, XPath, XQuery, etc. I need to extract the desired data from the XML file of my chamical database.  Where can I do the XQuery programming for extracting the desired data from the XML file of my chemical database?  Please kindly help and advise.
